My jewellery now for sale online.

This parenting thing is working a treat. Whilst child sleeps.... Jute makes stuff!

Jewellery is my latest thing and have made some awesome pieces which i almost want to keep and wear myself! The theme carries on from Ramikins Renos and uses old found building materials and objects to create wearable pendants.

Plummms! PLUMS for africa!

Our plum tree pulls through with the goods after 2 years of harsh pruning and false hopes!

Note: please dont laugh at my rather large garden ornament in the photo above. It has acted as a great ladder for picking plums. And just In case Gareth asks.. i have most certainly have not been climbing on the roof of his lovely old car...

So many fricken plums i don't know what to do! I've exhausted my sugar stash making shitloads of jam. The yummiest jam EVAH might i add. Have tried giving lots away... but they just keep coming.

Now i am battling with fruit flies and the fricken birds... just lucky i have my BB gun nearby!

My espalier apple is not far away either.. and not to mention the strawberry bed lego has adopted, a passionfruit plant thats double in size, fejoas just warming up and a machine of a lemon tree about to deliver. Just call me Jute the Fruit.

New Couch and Re-done Ottoman

It's been a while now since we convinced ourselves we needed a new couch and got one made, so i thought i best blog about it.

I loved my retro couch to pieces, but when your heavily pregnant and looking toward a future of being a couch bound stay at home cow then priorities change. The retro couch was particularly uncomfy, and our new corner couch... A.MA.ZING!

WELL, good story... it didn't come with the couch.... it came from a run down second hand store which may as well have been free in its original life as it looked like this:

So i stripped its horrid 70's clothes off


And made a new upholstered cover for it from the same material we got the couch made in.


I then fossicked in my collection of wood all stored for a rainy day. I had a stash of walnut perfect for a nice solid wood inset table top to replace the horrid veneered original pictured above. So off Gaz went to work with the wood to convince some poor work mate to machine it up and laminate it ready for our ottoman. He did an awesome job and good old mates rates only cost $20! Gaz then spray finished it with a million coats of marine grade matt poly which look awesome and will last forever!

So here she is, think we did a good job for $60!

Birthday Goodness!

Its a bit sad when you get excited about a ute load of dirt and a shovel. This was my 25th birthday present from my lovely husband... I wasn't counting on it being transformed into a garden too.. but he and his lovely mother slaved away yesterday creating the garden i had requested. :) Love it!

Completely satisfied and not expecting anything more exciting... i arrived home yesterday to find another pressy had turned up for me from Gareth. A hand held device that WILL show a bird a thing or two about who's boss of our section. Yes thats right, im going to hunt down the fricken bird that tells me all day long that i am trespassing on his property and shoot it with my new BB gun! The little shyte of a bird follows me around the house perching just outside the window i'm near to alarm my ear drums, and if i dare use his deck he flies down just out of arms reach to have a go at me. Sick of it, and obviously Gaz is sick of hearing about it.. so Yay my very own bird scaring device :)

And then to top it RIGHT off. Turns out my mother and sister too know me very well. Who spoilt the crap out of me at my new hang out... High Tea @ Sweet Pea.

40 weeks and 3 days...

Child clearly didn't listen to my last post... as i am now 3 days overdue awaiting her arrival.

Ah well she'll come when she's ready, but just letting her know she has two very impatient parents dying to meet her!!!
